Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour, granulated garlic, dry active yeast, baking soda, and kosher salt. The yeast is added for a subtle, yeasty flavor, not for rising the dough. Mix well to ensure the ingredients are evenly distributed.
  3. Add the non-fat plain Greek yogurt to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms, then knead it lightly on a floured surface until smooth.
  4. Divide the dough into equal portions, each weighing about 2.25 oz (64g).
  5. Roll each portion into a 10-inch rope, then tie each rope into a knot, tucking the ends underneath. Place the knots on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. In a small bowl, prepare the garlic herb butter by mixing the melted butter, crushed garlic, dried basil, dried oregano, and dried parsley.
  7. Brush each knot with the garlic herb butter, then sprinkle with Maldon sea salt flakes.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 14-16 minutes, or until the knots are golden brown.
  9. Serve hot with my Stuffed Pepper Soup or Turkey Meatballs for a delicious, comforting meal! Enjoy your flavorful, protein-packed garlic knots with a delightful yeasty flavor!
